God's principle of karma (ईश्वर की कर्मफल व्यवस्था)
God is the owner of this world. He is omnipresent and omniscient. Sees everyone, everywhere, all the time, from all sides. That is why he sees the good and bad deeds of all human beings, he knows, accordingly he gives animal, human, bird etc. bodies and means to souls to experience happiness and sorrow or gives salvation.
Supreme Yogi Maharishi Kapil, the author of the Sankhya Darshan, the giver of divine knowledge to the world, the one who shows the way to the world, has clearly stated through the sutra "कर्मवैचित्र्यात सृष्टिवैचित्र्यम्" that on the basis of different actions, God gives different types of body, means etc. to everyone. Because everyone's karma is different, therefore the result is also seen differently due to the difference in bodies.
🌻Main principles of Karmfal
1. All living beings are free to act by living in the divine arrangement and are subordinate to God i.e. dependent in enjoying the fruits.
The soul is less knowledgeable, therefore it cannot take the fruits of its own actions, nor can it give the exact results of the actions of others, because it cannot know all the actions and the feelings behind it is not known to the soul. The soul does not even know how much fruit is to be given for which action. Nature is unconscious, so it is unable to give fruits to anyone. Therefore, there is a need for some third conscious being, who knows all the actions of everyone exactly, the same God, the just authority, runs this system.
There are innumerable souls in the world. Only God knows the number of souls, because he sees all at all times, at all places and knows all actions of all. So, being impartial, only he can do justice properly.
2. The fruit of action is received by the independent doer only.
If a person is compelled under someone's dependence and is doing work unwillingly, then the fruit of that action is not given to the doer but to the one who gets it done. For example, if an elder / strong person makes a child / weak person steal, lie, violence etc. by intimidating, luring, pressurizing, scolding him, then the blame goes to the elder or strong person who is forcing. He will be considered as the doer of that action. He is the culprit, he will get the result.
Note:- There will not be any fault of कृतहानि अकृताभ्यागम, that is, somebody do the work and someone else has to bear the fruits of it is not going to happen.
3. Karma happens first, the fruit comes later.
First there is karma, then there is its fruit. This system is just. If the fruit is given before the action, then it will be against justice. It is also seen in the public that first there is a crime, after that there is a jail. There is no such judge in the world who can put a person in jail saying that you will steal in future so you have to go to jail first. If someone has tarnished his record earlier, he can punish him to avoid the possibility of evil. Judges may also sometimes imprison the same while plotting before committing a crime to protect them from crime. But if there is no thought of crime in anyone's mind and he has not expressed any emotion either by speech or by body, then the one who punishes him will become a criminal. Whether it is the king here or the common citizen.
Note- A worldly creature/man cannot be a judge because of superficiality. He can deliver the verdict. Gives more or less punishment according to the constitution. He does not know exactly that what is the fruit of which action? Not less than this and not more than this, it is only God who judges rightly.
4. God gives the fruit of good or virtuous deeds in the form of happiness and the result of bad deeds in the form of sorrow to all human beings.
God gives the fruits of good deeds done by mind, speech and body in the form of happiness. And gives the result of sinful actions in the form of sorrow. Gives birth/body to experience the fruits of sin and virtue. According to Yog Darshanakar Maharishi Patanjali, “सतिमूले तद्विपाको जात्यायुर्भोगा” i.e. when the fruits of actions are attained by Vipak (i.e. the time of attainment comes) then the body, age and the means of enjoyment, high or low, everyone gets different. According to the divine arrangement, everyone's body is different according to the result of his karma. Everyone's age is different and the means of enjoyment are also different for everyone.
According to Samkhya philosopher Maharishi Kapil Muni, "कर्म वैचित्र्यात् सृष्टि वैचित्र्यम्" means the actions of all the living beings are different, so strange differences are seen in the creation too. With this proof, the theory of reincarnation also proves to be true that a justice system is working in the world, due to which everyone's body, means and age are different, because no two living beings (human beings), have the same karma. Therefore, the shape/form/means of any two creatures (humans), animals and birds are not same.
5. The fruits of both virtuous and sinful actions are obtained separately. One cannot be nullified by the other.
God is just, so the fruit of action does not give less/more. One who acts in whatever quantity, with whatever spirit, God gives the exact same result. The result of sin and virtue is obtained separately in the form of sorrow and happiness, which cannot be nullified from each other. You can understand it in such a way that if a person did a very good deed, saved some lives, then the government rewarded him and respected him. And if the same person later started killing and robbing many people by misuse of his pride and power, then the government administration cannot forgive the present sins in return for the meritorious deeds done in the past. Just as he had received a reward for a good deed, he would definitely get a punishment for his bad deed. If one again performs virtuous deeds in life, then again the fruits of his virtuous deeds will also be received in the form of happiness/reward. But one cannot be deducted from the other, both will be received separately.
Only by atonement or penance, self-study, etc., suffering can be reduced. On the contrary, as someone is getting sorrow even by performing sacrifice, charity etc., then people start doubting that see the injustice of God, even a person who does such a good deed is also suffering and those who do bad deeds are getting happy. If this is seen anywhere, then one should not think that God will forgive their sins and will forget the virtuous deeds of the one who performs Yajna etc. and will not reward them in the form of pleasure etc. May be happiness and sorrow are coming from some other reason. Happiness and sorrow are also Adhibhautik, that is, they are met justly or unjustly due to others also. When you start getting the fruits of your own actions, then justice will be done right.
6. The person who atones for his sinful deeds, the amount of atonement he makes, God reduces that punishment.
After making atonement, God reduces the punishment to the same extent as the doer has purified himself by chanting, austerity, self-study, fasting(for punishing oneself), and the one who has suffered or endured by following the Dharm, God forgives that much offense and gives the remaining punishment. This is justice. Like a thief stole something and he felt guilty for his crime and he accepted the commitment of the crime in front of everyone in a meeting and returned his money to the owner of the money and atoned for his sin in front of everyone. If done, he cannot now be punished as much as it was intended to be given before atonement and guilt. Because he has already given himself a lot of punishment. Therefore he deserves forgiveness. His disgrace in the middle of the assembly is also a form of punishment. God is just, so he does not punish for the same crime again and again.
You can also understand this from another example that if a child dropped a container of milk, the mother scolded him, but before scolding the child, if the child has hurt himself by stumbling, then even after breaking the milk or goods, the mother does not scold that sad child, rather it is seen that she love and caresses him. This is cosmic justice. But God is also like a mother who, when he suffers, reduces his sinful karma.
7. The fruits of actions are given immediately after the deed, in the long-term or even in the next life.
God does not give the fruits of all actions immediately. The fruits of some actions are given immediately to run the system, the fruits of some after a long time in this life and the fruits of some remaining karmas in the next life. But there is no such karma that ends without experiencing its fruits.
"अवश्यमेव भोक्तव्यम् कृतं कर्म शुभाशुभम्" One has to suffer for the good or inauspicious deeds done. Maharishi Vyas ji says that like a calf finds its mother among thousands of cows, Similarly, even after thousands of births have passed, karma does not leave the chase. It follows the doer like a calf, until it is enjoyed.
Which karma results in this present birth?
According to Yog Darshan annotator Maharishi Vyas ji, the fruit of dharma arising out of worship of God or Gods, mantra, austerity, samadhi and service of great or superior men with utmost effort, are attained in this birth in the form of happiness, means etc. This virtuous karmashaya gives fast results. In this way, the result obtained in this visible present birth is called "दृष्टजन्मवेदनीय". And on the contrary, the fruit of unrighteousness arising out by severe affliction caused to torment, humiliation and betrayal of simple persons and by insulting, hurting or killing great ascetics is also get in this present birth. it is also called "दृष्टजन्मवेदनीय". The fruits of such sins are also soon received. For example, as Nandishwar Kumar attained divinity by attaining Yog Samadhi. Similarly, Nahush was the king of the devas, but due to the sin of disrespecting the sage Maharishis, leaving his high position and attained the lower position.
The fruits of some actions are received soon and some actions are delayed. As someone saved the lives of many people, and protected the creatures, then the king immediately gave him the fruits of the deeds as a reward. Last year also a youth was rewarded for saving children from a burning bus. On the contrary, if someone commits violence or commits a heinous crime like rape, murder, etc., then he too should be punished for his sins by God, king or people without any delay. Like few years ago when an innocent female doctor was burnt alive in Hyderabad, the criminals were killed by the police in no time. This could not have happened without the inspiration of God. When the whole country, with the inspiration of God, respects, cooperates or opposes any good or bad work, then its karmashaya becomes a fruitful very soon.
Which karmas get the fruits later?
Those actions which have not been attained by Vipak, that is, those whose time has not come for attainment, they tend to give fruits after some time. The fruits of some deeds were found immediately like someone stole and the police took him hostage in jail but some fruits are available a little late like someone who did MBBS and got the post of medical officer, it took a little long time. Even more, if someone did a government job or service till the age of 60, then he got the result in the form of pension in the long run. Similarly, someone steals, committed corruption and was not caught for ten years, but later got caught, then got punished a little late, but more punishment is given by imposing a separate fine for escaping. It is not necessary that whatever happiness, sorrow, punishment or reward one gets in the world, it is the result of one's own actions. The misery caused by thieves to common people is not the result of their own actions, but because the thief has given that sorrow on his own behalf to fulfill his selfishness. The cause of this misery is not the karma of the sufferer.
Similarly, if a person unjustly or justly earns wealth and property gives pleasure to someone, then that happiness of that happy person is not the result of his own actions. Therefore, giving as much happiness and sorrow to the one who has done good and bad deeds is the result of his karma. Against this, justice and injustice also bring happiness or sorrow in the world, it is not the result of his own actions. Therefore, seeing a sick, sad, handicapped or poor one should never think that this misery is the result of his own actions. Maybe it is the result of someone else's actions, injustice has been done to him. Whose justice and compensation will be done by God in future. Therefore, seeing a victim of cancer, heart attack, etc. in case of death due to accident etc., one should not say that it is the result of his actions. He may have met unjustly with any other animal or human being in which there is no fault of that victim. Like nowadays even a virtuous person eats food, even after taking full care, due to adulterants, due to the effect of poison in the fields, etc. may also suffer bodily harm in which the person is not at fault. On the contrary, even after looking at a happy rich person, it cannot be said that this happiness or capable prosperity is due to this person's karma. It may be the result of someone else's karma. One can get happiness or sorrow from anyone, both unjustly and justly.
The fruits of some actions are not available in this birth-
Just as someone has done many such selfless deeds, the fruits of which cannot be given to him in this life, then according body, intellect, parents and wealth etc., get accumulated for the next birth. Therefore, those actions, the fruits of which are available in the next life or after birth, are called "अदृष्ट जन्मवेदनीय". That is, in this birth, the fruits of those actions are not available, for further it gets accumulated, that is, it remains deposited in the account.
On the contrary, the result of any such action which has been inspired by the act of contravention, it is also the result of the "अदृष्ट जन्मवेदनीय" birth. For example, getting the body of a pig, donkey, horse, dog, cat etc. as punishment for the sinful deeds of this life is desired from God, that is, it is certain to be given by God, then it will be given in future births only because this birth or body is the result of past karma. You will get it only after the end of this life. Just as someone is sitting and eating of his previous earnings, then there is no fault in that, but when the debt has been created now, then he will have to repay it further.
The deeds of this birth will determine the next life whether this person will go into the body of a dog, cat, insect, spider in the next birth or will become a healthy, beautiful human being or will be in liberation.
8. The fruits of actions are obtained in the form of body, age and enjoyment (means of experience happiness and sorrow).
If ignorance, pride, attachment, jealousy, fear of death- these five tribulations are present at the root of the actions, then only the Karmashaya of those auspicious and inauspicious actions is made in the form of Dharm and Adharm. Its fruit is in the form of species, age and enjoyment only.
The name of birth is "Jaati"(species) i.e. there are different species like cow, horse, pigeon, rabbit, human etc.
The name of the life span of those born bodies is "Ayu"(age). Like the life span of a pigeon, the life span of a man, etc. Even among human beings, how much lifetime is received from God - this is also based on karma. It is a different matter that the living being has the freedom to extend or end the fixed age given by God up to a certain extent.
The name of attainment of words, touch, form, taste, smell for pleasure and pain is "Bhog" i.e. whatever pleasure and the means of pleasure, whatever sorrow and the means of sorrow, is called "Bhog". Just like someone takes birth in a poor house and someone in a rich house. Some are intelligent and some are of low intelligence. This is a karma based justice system, but a person can rise high even by taking birth in a poor house and being born in a high house can be poor, even being wise one can do stupid things and being a fool can do pure deeds by increasing his intelligence. This is freedom.
Birth, age and enjoyment means these three are called Prarabdh. For the enjoyment of happiness and sorrow the name of Dharm - Adharm arising out of good and bad deeds is called "Karmashaya". The name of the Dharma and Adharma of which the fruit is to be experienced in the present is "दृष्टजन्मवेदनीय" and one which is to be experienced in future birth is "अदृष्ट जन्मवेदनीय".
9. When injustice is done to someone, he does justice and compensates him and punishes the wrong doer.
Even if injustice is done to anyone, there is no need to be upset or sad, because an almighty judge is always present in the world for justice. When Adhibhautik(given by others) sorrow comes, God compensates for it, and the amount of sorrow one has received from someone else in an innocent state, then God compensates him by giving him body, knowledge, strength, means etc., gives complete justice and punishes the wrongdoer. To understand this beautiful system of karma results, you have to understand what is the fruit of action, the result of action and the effect of action and how justice is done.
Fruit of Karma - According to this, whatever justly given to the doer of action by God as a means of happiness and sorrow or happiness and sorrow, is called the fruit of action - like performing Panch Mahayagya is action and its fruit is the birth of a human being in the house of good religious, virtuous, capable, prosperous, learned parents.
The result and effect of karma can be on the doer of karma and others as well. If by the action of the doer of that action causes unjust pleasure or pain to another, then it is not the fruit of that action but the result or effect of that action. The fruit of action is given justly by God, only to the doer of the action, not to others, but at some places the collective fruits of collective actions are also given. Just like if no one has done it alone, but together all have done some very good or bad virtue or sin, then its result is also going to be collectively available to all.
10. God grants liberation, that is, salvation to the human beings who behave according to the Vedas.
Having true knowledge or accurate knowledge does not lead to ignorance. There is no anger, hatred etc. arising from ignorance. Removal of afflictions destroys all desires and they do not re-germinate like roasted chickpeas. When there is no tribulations in the root of the actions, then no matter how many karmas are accumulated, they will not give fruit, because it is impossible to bear fruit by the branch due to the cutting of the root. Therefore, only when there is an existence of the basic ignorance etc. are present, then only the Karmashaya of Dharm-Adharm can give the result in the form of birth etc. Just as the rice without frost does not germinate, similarly, only when the afflictions of avidya etc. exist, the karmashayas are capable of producing the said fruit, otherwise not. Therefore, after the retirement of afflictions, the karmashaya can never start the fruit.
The name of this is Dagdhabeej stage. The journey of a life-free Yogi with this body is completed, "प्राप्तं प्रापणीयम्" means that he has done what he was supposed to achieve, there is no desire left. But keep in mind that the Yogi himself will not finish the body after attaining such a state. "चक्रभ्रमणवत्" Like a potter's wheel, the wheel has been rotated by giving the velocity, after some time, the wheel will stop automatically. When this life stops, the Yogi is not born again. This is Moksha or liberation. In which no karma and desires of karma remain.
That is the ultimate goal of life. Whose instrument is the human body. The giver of this liberation is God, who, after being qualified by Ved-friendly conduct, gives salvation only to the Yogi and not to others. Everyone else has to go through birth and death continuously.
If you have any question or misconception on karma and justice system, even after reading so much, then read again, and if you do not understand, type your name through contact form / message etc., you can solve doubts.
